No Barriers! Jazz Tap Ensemble

Pictured are the JTE musicians along with a local group of Jazz Singers (and on the left, an embassy staffer) who had enjoyed our performance (enough so that they almost pulled Doug, our pianist, off the stage when offering their congratulations)!  This pic shows the nature of our tour in nutshell, the universal nature of this music and how barriers do not exist between people who are listening.

Tap Shoes for Everyone

Tap shoes here, tap shoes there, tap shoes everywhere!  

With the help of BAM and Capezio, we were able to distribute approximately 500 pair of tap shoes throughout Democratic Republic Congo, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe.  At each workshop, in every country, the dancers who received the shoes were anxious to put them and and make rhythmic noises.  If the sizes weren't right, they made them fit... in some cases there were dancers
